How Many Words In One Page?
When editing Word documents, users often do not pay attention to the number of words, characters, line numbers, or page numbers on their text files. However, there are many work situations and tasks that require you to limit the number of words or limit the number of pages. So, the question here is: How many words does a page have? Or, how many words to fill a page?
As a general estimate, a typical page of a single-spaced document with a 12 pt font size needs about 500 words to fill the page. Additionally, you will need 250 words to fill out one page of a double-spaced document. From there, with a simple calculation based on the number of pages or words, we can determine the exact number of words we need.
Here are two tables for your quick reference:
By word count:
Number of words | Number of pages (single spaced) | Number of pages (double spaced) |
250 | 1/2 | 1 |
